Erwing is a native of Los Llanos, but spent much of his teen years in the USA. After school he chose to leave and return to his home in Mexico. He wanted to live, work, and have a family in his own hometown. He has always believed he could do good things for his town and its people, and has dedicated much of his time and resources to these causes.
Lainie earned a BS in Biology from Northern Arizona University and an MS in Zoology and Physiology from the University of Wyoming. She has worked as a Fisheries and Conservation Biologist for over 20 years in the Southwest, Wyoming, Alaska and Mexico. More recently her work has focused on collaborating with and managing environmental and educational NGOs. She is passionate about addressing environmental and educational issues through solutions-based, economically sustainable community programing.
Mike attended Oregon State University, playing bass in the jazz band and studying chemistry, physics and astronomy. He then received a degree in audio engineering from The Conservatory of Recording Arts and Sciences in Tempe Arizona. He has extensive experience working with nonprofit foundation boards, contributing to boots-on-the-ground organizational operations and developing programs. Mike has a passion for environmental conservation, surfing and music.
Administrative Assistant and Program Developer
Mary joined the Azulita team in late 2015. As Program Developer and Administrative Assistant, Mary supports project operations and assists with organizational capacity building. She attended the University of Arizona, Tucson where she received a BA in History with a minor in human-environment interactions. She then completed her MA in Sustainable Communities from Northern Arizona University, Flagstaff.
